Women's Soccer: Mount Union Falls at Mount St. Joseph in Non-Conference Matchup

CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Mount Union's women's soccer team dropped to 0-2 on the season after falling 4-0 at Mt. St. Joseph Sunday in Cincinnati.

Mt. St. Joseph (2-0) scored early in the third minute to gain a 1-0 advantage. The Purple Raiders stuck close with the Lions until a goal in the 41st minute doubled the lead for Mt. St. Joseph. The Lions outshot the Raiders 10-1 in the first half while goalkeeper Michelle Kissane (Amherst / Steele) made four saves in net.

The second half continued to go in favor of the Lions as they outshot the Raiders 11-5 and added two more scores in the 49th minute and 78th minute.

Senior Nicole Lanese (Macedonia / Nordonia) tallied two shots while juniors Danielle Rohrman (Olney, Md. / Sherwood) and Lauren Beech (Hanoverton / United Local) both finished with one shot.

Mount Union next travels to New Wilmington, Pa. to face Westminster (Pa.) in a non-conference game Saturday, September 8 at 3:30 p.m.
