Women's Soccer: Purple Raider Offense Comes Alive Against Marietta

ALLIANCE, Ohio -- Mount Union's women's soccer team defeated Marietta 5-1 in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup Wednesday evening at Mount Union Stadium.

Juniors Danielle Rohrman (Olney, Md./Sherwood), Maggie O'Donnell (Avon) and Lauren Beech (Hanoverton/United Local) all tallied goals in the match while sophomore Cortni Arp netted her third goal on the season as Mount Union outshot Marietta 25-5. 

The Purple Raiders improve to 7-6, 4-2 in the OAC while Marietta falls to 5-9-1 and 2-4 in the OAC. 

Rohrman started the Purple Raider scoring in the 11th minute.

O'Donnell recorded her goal a minute later to double the Purple Raider advantage.

Beech collected her seventh goal of the season six minutes later.

Arp netted her goal just before the intermission break to extend the Mount Union effort.

The Purple Raider defense stood tall allowing five shots in the match.

Mount Union stays at home to play Heidelberg on Saturday, October 20 at 7 p.m.
