Men's Swimming and Diving: Mount Union Holds Second Place in Day One of Wooster Invitational

WOOSTER, Ohio - The Mount Union men's swimming and diving team holds second place after day one of the Wooster Invitational with a score of 435.

Mount Union sophomore Brett Scheib (Gibsonia, Pa. / Hampton) took first place in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:40.73, while senior Cole Ellsworth (Temperance, Mich. / Bedford) grabbed fourth with a 4:47.26, and Brian Regovich (Willowick / Eastlake North) took in eighth coming in at 4:56.87

The Purple Raiders also got a fifth place in the 200-yard freestyle relay from senior Logan Palochak (Hopewell, Pa. / Hopewell), Regovich, junior Mark Silver (Painesville / Riverside) and freshman Jason Tondra (Canton / Massillon Jackson) with a time of 1:25.54.

Freshman Nathan Williams (Columbia, S.C. / Irmo) and sophomore Isaiah Acosta (Buffalo, N.Y. / St. Joseph) took seventh and eighth place in the 200-yard IM clocking times of 1:57.96 and 1:58.67.

Tondra also clocked a 21.30 to take fourth in the 50-yard freestyle.

The 400-yard medley relay team of freshman Charles Marshall (Painesville / Riverside), sophomore Nick Dye (Massillon / Massillon Jackson), Palochak, and Tondra finished sixth place to end day one with a time of 3:31.91.

Day two of the Wooster Invitational continues Friday morning with preliminaries starting at 10 a.m.
