Women's Soccer: Mount Union Drops Road Contest

GROVE CITY, Pa.—Mount Union's women soccer team suffered a 2-1 overtime loss Tuesday night at Grove City.

The Purple Raiders finish the non-conference portion of their schedule with a record of 4-3-1 while Grove City is now 4-4-2.

Junior Brit McCauley (Mansfield / Ontario) scored off a pass from fellow junior Cortni Arp (Copley) to give the Raiders a 1-0 lead in the ninth minute.

Grove City tied the game five minutes later and the score was 1-1 at halftime.

A scoreless second half sent Mount Union to its second straight overtime contest and just under six minutes into the extra session Grove City got the game-winner from Michaela Burke.

The Raiders open up Ohio Atheltic Conference play Saturday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. against Otterbein at Mount Union Stadium.
